Event Details
On 12th September 2026, the Crocheters’ Association Uganda will host the Crochet Festival 2026 at Sharing Youth Center Hall Nsambya, aligning with International Crochet Day. This year’s theme, “Crochet Meets Culture,” celebrates crochet as more than a craft, it is a cultural expression, a livelihood opportunity, and a creative industry with the power to empower communities.
The festival will bring together artisans, designers, cultural institutions, and thousands of visitors to showcase how crochet bridges Uganda’s diverse cultural traditions with modern creative industries. From vibrant exhibitions and cultural showcases to innovative designs, the event highlights crochet’s role in heritage preservation, entrepreneurship, and global recognition.
By positioning Uganda as a leader in celebrating crochet as both a cultural and economic force, the festival invites everyone to experience creativity, heritage, and innovation stitch by stitch.
